Vision

Facilitating physical & mental health for all through integrated personal & professional development.

Mission

Develop leadership, learning and development, life-skills projects, courses & community centred thinking to enable well-being for all.

Integrity - To be transparent, vulnerable, empathic, & present in all our interactions.

Compassion - To accept that we are imperfect & sometimes that may look & feel really hard when our actions have not met the expectations we have of ourselves, but know that this it‘s both ok & necessary for growth, as it allows us to become accountable & able to create empathetic spaces for ourselves & others to consistently heal & grow.

Freedom - Ability to consistently act, feel, think in a way that allows our being to feel light & flow within the rhythm of our individual paths, whilst staying mindful of others on theirs.

Boundaries - Understanding of oversharing, keeping the lines within our professional relationships clear to ensure integrity is not compromised for our clients or ourselves.

Over my life I have experienced many roles not least as I was like many others a single parent balancing personal and professional responsibilities. In business it can be difficult to understand how this skill of responsibly balancing everything as a priority is translatable- but it is translatable.

For a 10-year period I learned to juggle a full time role as an assistant retail manager in a high end fashion brand with organising 2 large live runway shows and studying for a degree in Criminology, Business, and Criminal Justice whilst looking after my two young children with support that I had to pay for out of a limited funds. I managed teams of up to 50 models, choreographers, make-up artists- photographers, designers and celebrity guests in my own time, as an assistant manager I managed a smaller team of talented people and became their advocate as a HR buffer when going through difficult times, as a result the shop benefitted in keeping experienced employees who knew the tailoring trade and our shop regularly exceeded its financial targets in competition with Gieves and Hawks of Savile Row as well as Moss Brothers and Armani.

Another 10 year period has seen me set up a successful business from home, utilising my skills in management, fashion design, and styling- I continued to develop my digital skills and built a website and the social media to support it selling handmade jewellery. I had followers on twitter who lived 200 miles away visit my as my local market stall to buy my jewellery. In this period elements of my physical wellbeing were causing issues so I decided to qualify in Personal Training and Nutrition coaching so I could ensure I looked after my health to progress with professional interests. This endeavour has gradually taken over and seen me serve a multitude of clients and businesses sharing my knowledge in leadership and wellbeing, more recently adding behaviour and communication skills to my knowledge and understanding.

Throughout my self-start positions I have also taken work in learning and development and employment advisory roles. I have also taken other shorter lived positions in unhealthy high-staff turnover environments and experienced workplace bullying both as a by-stander and first hand which unfortunately gives reason behind the evolution Embrace Life UK has gone through- from being a simple Personal Training with light well-being and nutrition coaching service to a business that supports other businesses and the people within it so we can all do better and embrace life rather than fearing it.

To describe myself as a team player is an understatement- I was raised in the armed forces and had my first taste of professional environment within that. Team work is second nature to me as it is with the vast majority of Veterans- I am yet to see this replicated in non-military environments. The success of any military personnel rests on the team as well as the person. Good clear, communication and understanding of ones surroundings and variables leads to great work and better successes. This is how I made a success of runway shows and any role I have felt safe to thrive in.
